We provide a fast responsive service to clients in relation to potential damage to the environment arising from a marine incident. We have advised clients on applicable Irish environmental law to shipping activities together with a review of international conventions and EU relating to the control of pollution from vessels.


Recent Highlights

o  Advise to Australian bank on the import/export licences for certain cargoes and applicability under Irish law of international environmental conventions applying to shipping and Irish environmental legislation applicable to shipping – this involved a detailed review for the Bank of all applicable international conventions relating to pollution, waste control and other environmental regulations as applicable under Irish law, national environmental law and the range of penalties for breach of the same.

o  Advising ferry operator on the applicability under Irish Law of Annex IV Marpol and EU Directives on Sulphur Dioxide emissions on vessels entering Irish waters.

o  Providing advice to a ship operator in relation to legal exposure to an oil spillage in Warren point harbour together with advising on consequential clean up and environmental issues in relation to damage to mussels.
