We have also handled a number of shipbuilding disputes on behalf of clients.

Recent Highlights

o  Advising Irish shipowner on claims against gear box manufacturer following successive failures of gear box in new build, to include advice on recoverability of loss hire, profit etc. and instructing and managing German lawyers for subsequently successful German proceedings against manufacturer.

o  Advising Russian shipowner in relation to two significant shipbuilding disputes with Chinese yard subject to LMAA arbitration.

o  Advising Livestock exporter in relation to ship conversion contracts of ro-ro and cargo vessels to livestock carriers.

o  Acting as Escrow agent in relation to a shipbuilding dispute in relation to construction of a superyacht .
