We frequently advise clients on the acquisition of new buildings and the sale and purchase of second-hand tonnage. We act for a number of lenders in relation to ship finance transactions. We also have experience in leasing documentation, joint venture agreements and ship management agreements.

We have advised shipping companies on establishing operations in Ireland, acquiring vessels and registering the same. We advise clients specifically on Ireland’s highly competitive tonnage tax regime and related taxation issues.

o  Acting for Irish shipowner in the acquisition of new tug, advising on draft MOA and ancillary documents.

o  Acting for Isle of Man company in relation to establishing joint venture company for the acquisition and finance of conversion of vessel to livestock carrier to include drafting shareholders agreement and reviewing loan documentation.

o  Drafting corporate guarantee for lender to Irish shipowner.
